Science suggests that the 10% of the population who are left-handed may be more creative. That’s why we believe companies should focus on hiring left.

Studies show lefties live nine years fewer than our right-handed counterparts. Whether true or not, the sense of mortality looms large within our community.

Yet, left-handed creatives are underappreciated in today’s workforce—and we may not have time to wait for the world to change.

So, we’re changing it. In 2025, Bailey Maxine Wood and Ross Atkinson founded Left For Dead, a foundation dedicated to showcasing the talent and urgency of the Leftie creative class. As part of this mission, they launched the Registry of Young Left-Handed Creatives to spotlight our underrepresented community.

We urge the advertising industry to recognize the inspiration that flows from the left hand. Do what’s right. Hire left.
